Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is keen for Noni Madueke to remain with the team beyond the summer transfer window. However, he acknowledges that anything can happen before the window closes on August 30. The club aims to offload players like Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Romelu Lukaku, and Trevor Chalobah.
Madueke, who scored in Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Servette in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off, is a player Maresca wants to develop further. Despite wanting more consistency from the former PSV winger, Maresca sees potential in him. Last season, Madueke scored five Premier League goals in 23 appearances and exceeded his expected goals (xG) by 2.5.
Maresca emphasised the need for Madueke to be consistent during training sessions. "I really like Noni," he said. "The only problem is that he has to understand that he has to be consistent during the week in training. He's a good player and he's doing well with us."

The Italian coach believes Madueke will be crucial for Chelsea this season as they compete in four different competitions. He stated, "We have so many games. If it's not today, it will be the next one. He's doing well since he started with us."
Maresca remains realistic about the uncertainties of the transfer window's final days. "Yeah absolutely," he said when asked about potential changes before the window closes. "But the reality is until the window closes, anything can happen."
Despite these uncertainties, Maresca is confident that Madueke will get playing time if he continues to work hard and improve his consistency. "The only thing he has to improve is consistency," Maresca noted. "Every day, every day work hard. Then he will get minutes for sure."
The Chelsea boss's comments highlight his belief in Madueke's abilities and his desire to see him grow as a player within the team.
As Chelsea navigates through this transfer period, Maresca's focus remains on building a strong squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.
