Jose Mourinho prioritised a midfielder this season and are still in search for a player with Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic closely linked. However, a new entry could pave way for a former midfielder.

Galatasaray have been closely linked with Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini for quite a time and Turkish outlet Ajansspor has claimed that the Belgian has already agreed to personal terms with the Lions.

Galatasaray sporting director Cenk Ergun has also reacted to the latest reports and has confirmed the news, insisting talks are already in underway.

"There will be surprises, we are in talks with Fellaini," Ergun was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football after the Galatasaray's training session in Austria.

"We have made an approach, we are close and if we get Fellaini we will end our pursuit of N'Diaye.

"We need a player like Fellaini who can shuttle around in midfield."

Fellaini was also linked with a move to AC Milan and Inter showed last December however Mourinho decided to keep him at the club.

The 29-year-old extended his contract last season until 2018 and is well loved by Mourinho. However, with Mourinho targeting a new midfielder, his game time could be limited even more and with the world cup round the corner, the Belgian will surely target proper game time to cement his position in the national side.

Fellaini was the first the signing of David Moyes and the post Sir Alex Ferguson era. However, since his move to the Old Trafford, he has faced the centre of criticism for most his times and if now some of the reports are to be believed those fans may now get their wish finally.

Fellaini has spent four seasons at United after arriving in September 2013 from Everton and has made 133 appearances for the Red Devils, winning one FA Cup and Europa league titles with them.
