Arsenal have reportedly joined Barcelona and Manchester United in the race to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
The Spain international has been widely linked with a move to Barcelona in recent months with the Catalan giants reportedly eyeing him as a replacement for Sergio Busquets. The veteran midfielder is currently in the final year of his contract with the Blaugrana and looks resigned to leave the club with a move to Inter Miami reportedly on the cards.
However, Xavi Hernandez's side are now set to face competition from Premier League leaders Arsenal for the 24-year-old's signature. Arsenal bolstered their midfield ranks in January with the addition of Jorginho from rivals Chelsea in a £12 million deal. However, the Italy international does not look like a long-term option at the age of 31 and has been handed just an 18-month deal.
Arsenal were linked with a move for Moises Caicedo in January before signing Jorginho and made three failed attempts to land the Ecuador international in January. The Gunners are also thought to be keeping their tabs on West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice. However, Zubimendi could prove to be a solid alternative to both and that too for a much more affordable fee.
