Mathys Tel has officially joined Tottenham on a permanent basis, marking Thomas Frank's inaugural acquisition for the club. He has committed to a six-year contract, which will keep him in north London until June 2031, with the transfer fee reportedly being £29.8 million. Initially brought in on loan in January under former manager Ange Postecoglou, the move was always intended to become permanent.

During the 2024-25 season, Tel participated in 20 matches across various competitions for Spurs. He managed to score three goals and provided one assist. Additionally, he created 20 opportunities for his teammates, with six of those considered significant chances. Despite this, his expected assists (xA) stood at just 1.5.

In April, Tel scored against Southampton and Wolves in consecutive Premier League games. This achievement made him only the fifth teenager to score in back-to-back league appearances for Tottenham. The last player to do so was Dele Alli in February 2016.
