Luton Town have announced Matt Bloomfield as their new manager, following his tenure at Wycombe Wanderers. Bloomfield, who has guided Wycombe to second place in League One this season, has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Luton. This marks the third team he has managed in as many seasons. At 30 years old, Bloomfield managed 108 games for Wycombe, where he also played 488 matches.
During his time at Wycombe, Bloomfield achieved a win rate of 48.15%, securing 52 victories, drawing 24 times, and losing 32 matches. His appointment comes after Rob Edwards left Luton by mutual consent last week due to poor performance, leaving the team 20th in the Championship and just two points above relegation.

Joining Bloomfield at Luton are assistant coach Richard Thomas, first-team coach Lee Harrison, and senior analyst Ben Cirne. Their first challenge will be against Preston North End on Saturday. Luton has not won against Preston in their last three league encounters, which have seen only four goals scored in total.
"It's a genuine honour and a privilege to be here," Bloomfield expressed in an official statement. "I'm really, really proud." He mentioned meeting the recruitment team and spending time with Gary and the board over a busy weekend. The passion of Luton supporters and their desire for him to join was evident to him.
Bloomfield emphasized his desire to work with people who care deeply about their club. "I want to work with people who want the best for their football club," he stated. He felt welcomed and valued by Gary, the chairman, and the board of directors at Luton.
The new manager is eager to bring positive changes to Luton Town and is motivated by the support from both fans and management alike. His commitment to improving the team's standing in the Championship is clear as he prepares for his debut match against Preston North End.
