Mauricio Pochettino has dismissed the possibility of returning to Tottenham Hotspur to replace Ange Postecoglou, describing such a move as unrealistic. Despite Postecoglou's recent dismissal, just weeks after leading Spurs to a Europa League victory, Pochettino remains committed to his current role. Tottenham finished 17th in the Premier League, their lowest ever.
Pochettino managed Tottenham from 2014 to 2019, overseeing 293 matches with a win rate of 54.3%. During his tenure, he guided the team to the Champions League final in 2019 and the EFL Cup final in 2015. However, they were defeated by Liverpool and Manchester City in these finals.

Currently, Thomas Frank is considered a leading candidate for the Tottenham position. Meanwhile, Pochettino has been linked with a return to his former club. However, he has expressed satisfaction with his current role as head coach of the United States national team, a position he took on in October 2024.
After the USA's recent defeat to Turkiye, Pochettino stated: "Right now, it's not realistic... Look where I am. Look where we [his backroom staff] are. The answer is so clear." He emphasised his contentment with his current situation and dismissed ongoing speculation about his future.
Since leaving Tottenham in 2019, Pochettino's name frequently appears in rumours regarding potential managerial changes. He acknowledged this by saying: "I think since I left in 2019, my name has always been on the list [of rumours]. I've seen the rumours; we are 100 coaches on the list."
Pochettino reassured fans that if any changes were to occur in his career path, it would become evident. For now, he remains focused on his responsibilities with the United States national team and is not entertaining discussions about other opportunities.
