Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo has joined Manchester United after a positive discussion with head coach Ruben Amorim. Last season, Mbeumo netted 20 goals and provided eight assists for Brentford in the Premier League. Only Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak had more direct goal contributions during the 2024-25 season. Mbeumo was previously linked to Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
Mbeumo's decision to join Manchester United came after he learned about their plans and Amorim's vision for the club. "I spoke to some other managers because I wanted to hear their projects but the Manchester United one was very good for me," said Mbeumo. The forward eventually signed with the Red Devils for a reported fee of £71 million.

The 25-year-old forward expressed his enthusiasm for joining a club with such a significant stature. He stated, "Manchester United is a big club. I think it's a great opportunity and I chose the project." Mbeumo appreciates challenges and believes in the ambitious project at Manchester, which he wanted to be part of.
During his conversation with Amorim, Mbeumo felt an immediate connection with the coach's vision. "It was a very friendly conversation and a constructive one," he shared. Amorim outlined his plans, emphasizing their desire to become the best team, which resonated with Mbeumo's competitive spirit.
Mbeumo was on holiday when discussions were ongoing, focusing on rest both mentally and physically. He trusted those handling his transfer negotiations, confident that everything would fall into place if it was meant to be. His belief in the process paid off as he now embarks on this new chapter at Old Trafford.
His move marks an exciting phase for both him and Manchester United as they aim to achieve success together under Amorim's guidance. With his impressive track record from last season, Mbeumo is expected to make a significant impact at his new club.
