Mesut Ozil still in contact with Real Madrid

Arsenal's Mesut Ozil hints of Real Madrid return

Bengaluru, December 3: Wantaway Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has fueled speculation he could make a sensational move back to former club Real Madrid by revealing he is still "in contact" with Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane.

The German midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and it increasingly looks like that he will not renew the contract even though Arsenal remain pretty hopeful.

The Arsenal playmaker has been linked with a host of club and that is quite expected when a player of Ozil’s quality is available on a free next summer, who in the World would not like to take the chance.

Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are all linked with the World Cup winner, but in a recent interview, Ozil also hinted the chances of joining his former club Real Madrid again.

The 29-year-old was full os praise and respect for the French footballing legend Zidane when he spoke to FootballMgzn.

He said: "The way he interpreted and directed his game has fascinated me and still fascinates me.

"His technique and his creativity were outstanding. As a youth player I wanted to be like him.

"When I got to Real Madrid and met him, my hands were sweating and I was nervous.

"But Zidane was very kind and positive. We still have contact from time to time."

It was Carlo Ancelotti who sold Ozil to Arsenal back in 2013 which was a huge surprise to many as Ozil used to be a key player for the Los Blancos.

Even though Real Madrid have found success in Ozil’s absence, they could be very much open to add a creative player like him back in the squad.

Currently Real Madrid are not having the best season and someone like Ozil could change the situation with his excellent creative play and he also remains a very good friend of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.
