Milan Triumphs 1-0 Over Udinese Thanks To Chukwueze's Early Goal And Resilience

AC Milan claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win against Udinese, driven by Samuel Chukwueze's early strike. Despite Tijjani Reijnders' dismissal, Milan held firm to secure the three points.

AC Milan managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory against Udinese at San Siro, despite being reduced to ten players. Samuel Chukwueze scored the decisive goal in the 13th minute, assisted by Christian Pulisic. The match became more challenging for Milan when Tijjani Reijnders was sent off in the 29th minute after a collision with Sandi Lovric.

Chukwueze's goal came early in the game, giving Milan an initial advantage. His low shot into the corner from Pulisic's pass set the tone for the match. However, maintaining this lead became difficult after Reijnders' red card left Milan with ten players on the field.

Milan Edges Udinese with Chukwueze's Goal

Reijnders' dismissal was a turning point, as he received a red card for his challenge on Lovric, who was advancing towards goal. This incident forced Milan to play defensively for most of the match. Despite being a player down, Milan held their ground against Udinese's attempts to capitalise on their numerical advantage.

In stoppage time, Udinese thought they had equalised through Christian Kabasele. However, after a lengthy VAR review, the goal was ruled out for offside, preserving Milan's win. This victory places Milan third in Serie A with 14 points, level with Inter Milan and two points behind leaders Napoli.

Pulisic's Stellar Performance

Pulisic has been instrumental for Milan since last season. He is the only player in Serie A to have both scored over 10 goals (17) and provided more than 10 assists (11). In Europe's top five leagues since early 2023-24, only Chelsea's Cole Palmer has been involved in more goals than Pulisic among midfielders.

Milan's resilience was tested following Reijnders' ejection. Over the past ten Serie A seasons, only Bologna has received more red cards than Milan's tally of 53. Despite this challenge, Milan managed to hold onto their lead and secure three crucial points.
