Mitrovic's Double Leads Al-Hilal To 2-1 Victory Over Al-Ahli In Saudi Pro League Match

Aleksandar Mitrovic once again made a significant impact for Al-Hilal, helping them secure a 2-1 victory over Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League. Al-Ahli initially took the lead after 12 minutes when Gabri Veiga scored, assisted by Franck Kessie. Veiga skillfully bypassed Yassine Bounou to score at King Abdullah Sports City.

Al-Ahli nearly extended their lead with attempts from Riyad Mahrez and Ivan Toney, while Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's shot was cleared off the line. However, Al-Hilal equalised early in the second half through Mitrovic, who headed in Renan Lodi's cross. The game took another turn when Rayan Hamed fouled Malcom, resulting in a penalty for Al-Hilal.

Mitrovic's initial penalty was saved by Abdulrahman Al Sanbi. Yet, he got a second chance due to VAR spotting encroachment. This time, Mitrovic converted successfully, marking his 14th goal of the season across all competitions.

Since joining Saudi Arabia, Mitrovic has been prolific, scoring 54 goals in as many matches for Al-Hilal. In this match alone, he contributed an expected goals (xG) tally of 1.16 to the team's total of 2.24. He also had six touches inside the opposition box, more than any other player.

Malcom also stood out for Al-Hilal by creating three chances, more than anyone else on the field. His 14 passes into the final third were only surpassed by Ruben Neves with 18 and Salem Al Dawsari with 15 among his teammates.
