Arsenal fans will hope that Ozil and their new man Mkhitaryan builds an outstanding partnership in midfield as the pair are blessed with excellent playmaking abilities.

Bengaluru, February 15: Newly-acquired Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has given his Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil a massive thumbs up.

The Armenian international told: “Everyone knows that Mesut is one of the best players in the world.

“It’s only happiness and joy to play next to him because he understands very well the football game.

"He has great vision, he has amazing technique and he’s the best in his position.”

Arsenal fans will hope that Ozil and their new man Mkhitaryan builds an outstanding partnership in midfield as the pair are blessed with excellent playmaking abilities and could create havoc if they are both on song together.

Former Manchester United player Mkhitaryan made an up and down start to life in North London.

He claimed as many as assists in the 5-1 hammering of Everton on his home debut.

However, the former Dortmund star was far less impressive at Wembey last weekend as Arsenal suffered a 1-0 loss to Tottenham.

Ozil recently ended transfer speculation linking him with United by signing a new three-and-a-half year contract extension worth up to £350,000-a-week.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also signed £56million Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, a former teammate of Mkhitaryan at Borussia Dortmund.

The duo shares a brilliant partnership on the pitch from their time together at Dortmund and are great friends off the pitch as well.

Mkhitaryan said, “We did not have too much time to train together [before the Everton game],” said Mkhitaryan.

“He came a bit late, like two games before the game and he had been training only twice.

“I thought it could only be in a dream that we could join another club other than Dortmund but I am very happy for that."
