Bengaluru, February 15: New winter arrival Henrikh Mkhitaryan revealed that he is very excited to reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund strike partner and good friend Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal.

Aubameyang joined the Gunners for a club-record £54 million whereas Mkhitaryan moved to Emirates in an exchange deal for Alexis Sanchez who went to Manchester United.

Both of these pairs had had a great time at Dortmund before Mkhitaryan broke the combination to move to United last year.

The duo had played together at Westfalenstadion for three years from 2013 and they registered an astonishing 62 goals and 44 assists across all competitions.

The playmaker has now suggested his deadly combination with Aubameyang can again reflect on the field at Arsenal but they need some time to adapt.

He said: "I think it could only be in a dream that we could join us in another club than Dortmund, but I'm very happy for that. I know him very well. He's one of my best friends and the best teammate I've ever had. I'm very happy to have him here and I think all the fans are happy as well to see him in Arsenal shirt.

"What can I say? I love playing with him, I can understand him from one step, and hopefully that for the next games we're going to achieve more."

He added: "We did not have too much time to train together. He came a bit late, like two days before the game and he had been training only twice. Two days wasn't enough to remember all the stuff that we did together but in the game it worked very well and I hope it continues."

Both the players have started together in two matches. In the first match against Everton, Mkhitaryan managed to get three assists to his name and even Aubameyang scored his debut goal with an assist from Armenian to win the tie 5-1. However, the duo failed to replicate their same form against arch-rivals Tottenham a week later as they lost 1-0.
