Mohamed Salah Confident About Winning The 2025 Ballon D'Or After Stellar Season

Mohamed Salah expresses confidence in winning the 2025 Ballon d'Or following a standout season with Liverpool. He leads in goals and assists while securing a contract extension.

Mohamed Salah is optimistic about his chances of winning the 2025 Ballon d'Or after playing a crucial role in Liverpool's Premier League triumph. The Egyptian forward has been instrumental in securing the Reds' second title in five years, leading both the goals and assists charts with 28 goals and 18 assists. This achievement makes him a strong contender for the 2024-25 Premier League Player of the Season award.

Salah's impressive performance this season includes breaking the record for most goal involvements in a 38-game season, with 46 contributions. He is just one involvement away from equalling the overall record of 47, held by Andrew Cole (1993-94) and Alan Shearer (1994-95). If he tops both charts again, Salah would be the first player in Premier League history to do so twice, having achieved it previously in the 2021-22 season.

Salah Aims for 2025 Ballon d'Or Victory

The forward recently put an end to speculation about his future by signing a two-year contract extension with Liverpool in April. Initially, Salah believed there was a high chance he would leave when his previous contract expired at the end of this term. However, as negotiations progressed positively, he decided to stay at Anfield.

Reflecting on his decision to remain at Liverpool, Salah said: "Based on club history, 10%. The philosophy of the club. I know how they dealt with their players over 30 in the past. I didn't expect I was going to stay." He added that negotiations improved significantly from January onwards.

With his future now secure, Salah aims to add more silverware to his collection, which already includes two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy from the 2018-19 season. He expressed his desire to win both competitions again, stating: "I really hope we win the Champions League again. I know the Premier League is always nice for the club and that's how it should be."

When asked about his aspirations for winning individual accolades like the Ballon d'Or, Salah shared: "It used to drive me crazy before. Some stuff is not in your hands, so you give up in that direction. When you go to work, you remind yourself of what you want to achieve in the season, so it drives you to work harder."

Salah remains hopeful about his chances this year but acknowledges that some factors are beyond his control: "I'd love to win it one day. But if it didn't happen, I don't know what to do. I'm sure there's a good chance to win it this year, but we'll see."

As Salah continues to excel on the field and secure his place among football's elite, fans eagerly anticipate whether he will achieve further success with Liverpool and potentially claim individual honours like the Ballon d'Or.
