Mohamed Salah is among three Liverpool players nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Season award. Salah has propelled Liverpool to the title and needs just one more goal involvement in their last two matches to equal the single-season record for combined goals and assists, which stands at 47. This record is currently held by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer.
Salah has already broken the record for a 38-game campaign as of April 13. He leads this season's Premier League charts with 28 goals and 18 assists. Only four players have topped both charts in a single season: Cole, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Harry Kane, and Salah himself in previous years.

Salah is joined on the shortlist by teammates Ryan Gravenberch and Virgil van Dijk. Liverpool clinched the title with four games remaining, a feat achieved earlier only by Liverpool in 2019-20, Manchester City in 2017-18, and Manchester United in 2000-01.
Nottingham Forest also has two nominees: Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White. Wood scored 20 Premier League goals this season, becoming only the second player to achieve this milestone for Forest after Stan Collymore. Gibbs-White contributed six goals and eight assists for Nuno Espirito Santo's team.
Declan Rice from Arsenal is nominated despite his team's inability to challenge for the title. Rice created more chances (56) and expected assists (5.5 xA) than in any other top-flight season. Newcastle United's Alexander Isak is also shortlisted with 23 goals, second only to Salah.
Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo completes the list of nominees, having scored 18 times this season. The Young Player of the Season award nominees were also revealed, with Gravenberch being shortlisted for both awards.
Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is among those nominated for Young Player of the Season. Reports suggest Real Madrid might sign him for £50 million before next month's Club World Cup. Huijsen averages 4.1 progressive passes per 90 minutes, ranking third among centre-backs who played at least 1,500 minutes.
Chelsea's Cole Palmer could retain his trophy after winning it in 2023-24, though his performance has declined recently with only six goal involvements in his last 20 matches. Other young talents include Forest winger Anthony Elanga, Arsenal centre-back William Saliba, Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, Brighton's Joao Pedro, and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap.
Delap stands out as the first player nominated while playing for a relegated team. He is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United and Chelsea due to a £30 million relegation release clause now active.
