Mohamed Salah surpasses former East Bengal coach to create new record at Liverpool

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has made another step up in the Liverpool legend hierarchy in their win over Brentford.

The Reds secured a 2-0 victory over the Bees on Sunday, and Salah scored a goal in it. Salah has now scored two goals in two games this season.

Mohamed Salah

His latest goal at Anfield saw him surpass Robbie Fowler on the all-time scorers' list at the iconic stadium. Salah now holds the fifth spot outright with 118 goals at Anfield in all competitions, moving ahead of Fowler who had 117. Only Ian Rush (185), Roger Hunt (173), Gordon Hodgson (159), and Billy Liddell (137) have more goals than him at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah's contract situation remains unresolved, making it a top priority for Liverpool's management once the transfer window closes. His importance to the team is evident, and this also applies to Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who are crucial players for the club.

Mohamed Salah's Goal-Scoring Feats

In terms of total goals for Liverpool, Salah ranks fifth on the all-time list. He trails only behind Billy Liddell (228), Gordon Hodgson (241), Roger Hunt (285), and Ian Rush (346). With another strong season, there is a real chance he could climb higher on this list. Last season, he netted 25 goals in all competitions, showing no signs of slowing down despite being 32 years old.

Liverpool's next match is against Manchester United at Old Trafford, a venue where Salah has enjoyed considerable success. His impressive record against United makes him a key player to watch in this fixture.

Salah's consistent performance continues to be vital for Liverpool as they navigate through the season. The Merseyside club also secured their second league victory in a row and now sit 3rd in the table with 6 points in two matches.
