Key Mohun Bagan defender Brendan Hamill sustained an injury during the Kolkata derby in early February. His recovery took some time, but it seems that now he is fully fit to start for the Mariners against Jamshedpur FC.
Brendan Hamill was seen training with the first team before Mohun Bagan faced Odisha in the clash of the table-toppers. However, it seems he wasn't 100% fit to feature against them, so he was left out of the squad.

Brendan Hamill sustained an injury in the 52nd minute of their match against East Bengal on February 3. His recovery was set to take longer and he has missed four games so far - against Hyderabad, Goa, NorthEast United, and Odisha.
The coach was positive about Hamill's recovery before their all-important match against Odisha. He also trained with the first team the day before the team flew out to Odisha for the match. However, it seems coach Antonio Habas was cautious about Hamill's fitness.
The Spanish defender was not included in the matchday squad. However, at the post-match press conference, the coach was again asked about Hamill's condition. He said, “Brendan Hamill has recovered. Hopefully, he can play in the next match.”
Hence, after getting some additional rest and good enough time to become fully fit, it can be expected that he will feature in their next game against Jamshedpur FC. However, there is no assurance that he will start the match.
Considering Brendan Hamill has been out for almost a month, coach Habas could decide to ease into it. Hence, he could be called off the bench. However, Jamshedpur FC are formidable opponents and the coach is determined to win the shield.
In the quest to climb back to the top of the table, Mohun Bagan cannot afford to lose any point at this stage. Hence, the coach will undoubtedly be looking to line up his strongest XI and that could include Hamill.
