Mohun Bagan are expecting their interim manager Antonio Habas to be in the stands for the next Kalinga Super Cup 2024 match against Hyderabad FC in Bhubaneswar on Sunday (January 13). It has been reported the Spanish coach will be in India soon.
It seems Antonio Habas's visa took some time to arrive, which saw assistant coach Clifford Miranda take over as caretaker manager for the Kalinga Super Cup 2024 opening match. As per a report from Ananda Bazar, Habas finally got his visa and could travel to Bhubaneswar.

Starting the season, Mohun Bagan had one of the strongest teams in the country. However, when injuries started to hit one after another, everything started to fall apart for the Mariners brigade.
With three losses, two wins, and a draw, they failed to progress from the AFC Cup group stage. Even though they started well in their ISL campaign, the Mariners won only one in their last six matches before the Kalinga Super Cup 2024 started.
This string of results saw Mohun Bagan sack their head coach Ferrando in the first week of January. Antonio Habas, who was appointed as the technical director last summer, was instantly announced as the new head coach.
Habas was out of the country at this point and had been trying to return as soon as possible. However, it was taking time for the visa to arrive. The problem seems to have been solved and the new Mariners coach could arrive soon.
In the meantime, interim coach Clifford Miranda travelled to Bhubaneswar with the squad for the Kalinga Super Cup 2024. Miranda iterated that he has been in contact with Habas over the phone to receive the Spanish coach's instructions.
Habas could arrive before Mohun Bagan's next match against Hyderabad. However, it's most likely that he would be watching the match from the stands. It's not yet known whether Habas will take over thereafter. However, considering they play East Bengal in the next match, Habas can be expected to be involved heavily.
