Mohun Bagan Super Giant has appointed Jose Francisco Molina as the new head coach of the club, the club announced on Tuesday (June 11).
Jose Molina is set to be the successor of Antonio Lopez Habas, who took over the duties midway last season and drove them towards a triumphant season as the Mariners won the ISL Shield title.

Molina previously coached Atletico de Kolkata in the ISL, the club with which Mohun Bagan merged a few seasons back. The former Spain international last managed Mexican club Atletico San Luis back in the 2017-18 season.
The 53-year-old was ecstatic to join the prestigious football club and said he was 'honoured' to join a club with 'rich legacy'.
"I am honoured to be part of Mohun Bagan Super Giant, a club with rich legacy. I hope to bring more success to the club and its fans. I would also like to thank Dr Goenka for giving me this opportunity and giving me the responsibility to take charge as head coach of Mohun Bagan Super Giant," Molina said after his appointment.
Molina was also the Technical Director of the Spanish Football Federation for the last three years. In his playing days, Molina played for Valencia, Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and other top-tier Spanish clubs. He also played 9 times for the Spain senior team.
As the new season beckons, it is to be seen how Molina succeeds his compatriot at the Kolkata club.
