Mohun Bagan's Yuta Kinowaki could be ruled out for a month after dislocating collarbone

Kolkata, Dec 11: After achieving a huge confidence boost by beating their bitter rivals East Bengal in the Kolkata derby last weekend Mohun Bagan again ran riot in their next match Churchill Brothers Sports Club at the Vidyasagar Krirangan Stadium in their third I-League game on Sunday as the Green and Maroons side beat the Goan outfit 5-0.

However, their bright afternoon produced a bitter event as defensive midfielder Yuta Kinowaki had to be replaced by Shilton d'Silva within the first five minutes of play because of injury.

And now, according to Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen, the midfielder has suffered a dislocation in his collarbone and will be under the knife which could make him unavailable for at least a month.

Sen also described that their star attacker Sony Norde also suffered an injury, a slight niggle on his right knee in the match and also some of his first-team players have endured knocks, however, he expects those not to be severe.

"Not happy, but I am in an anxious mood today. So many players have been injured which is extremely bad for us. And even after winning by 5 goals, there is no time to relax as there are two difficult matches ahead," said Sen while addressing the injury concern.

"Yuta has suffered a dislocation in his collarbone and will be operated today evening. Sony Norde has a slight niggle on his right knee. Kromah has injured his adapter muscle whereas Arijit Bagui has also injured his ankle. These are the four major injuries and once they are properly diagnosed we can confirm the actual status of the injuries. We will practise tomorrow and day after tomorrow so let's see what we can do," he concluded.

Yuta signed for the Green and Maroons side this season and made his I League debut for the Kolkata side in their derby match against East Bengal. The 26-year-old played a key role in their victory against EastBengal. He earlier also has missed the first match of the season against Minerva Punjab FC due to a groin injury.
