Kalinga Super Cup 2024, Mohun Bagan vs Hyderabad FC: Mohun Bagan will look to bag another three points as they take on Hyderabad FC in Group A Round 2 matches of the Kalinga Super Cup at the Kalinga Stadium Pitch 1 in Bhubaneswar on Sunday (January 14).

The match will be followed by the second match of Group A Round 2 between East Bengal and I-League side Sreenidi Deccan on the main pitch of the same venue. Mohun Bagan picked three points in their opening match, rallying to beat Sreenidi after going a goal down.

Mohun Bagan, who is being managed by assistant coach Cifford Miranada in absence of incoming interim coach Antonio Habas, are missing several key players for the Kalinga Super Cup with as many as seven Indian regulars in Qatar for the AFC Asian Cup 2023.

The club has turned to their foreign strikers for goals as Jason Cummings and Armando Sadiku fired goals in win over Sreenidii Deccan. The club had to make a makeshift arrangement and play their Australian forward Dimitri Petratos in midfield and the footballer did a decent job in the role.

Apart from him, first-choice right-back Asish Rai's presence in the defense has bolstered the strength further while youngsters like Kiyan Nassiri Giri, Lalrinliana Hnamte and Suhail Ahmed Bhat makes them a strong outfit.

Hyderabad FC, on the other hand, have fielded their young indigenous players for the last game with no foreigners in the line-up. The youthful presence took East Bengal by surprise as they equalised twice in the game before Saul Crespo broke their heart with a set-piece goal.
