Mohun Bagan vs Ravshan Kulob: Dimitri Petratos Says 'Not Happy' With Team Performance in Dull Draw in AFC Champions League Two

By MyKhel Staff

Dimitri Petratos did not hold back his disappointment following Mohun Bagan Super Giant's goalless draw against Ravshan Kulob in their AFC Champions League Two Group A match in Kolkata on September 18.

Speaking to the AFC official broadcaster post-match, the forward candidly expressed his dissatisfaction with his team's performance. "Not happy with the performance," Petratos stated. "We should have done better. We have to be patient with what we tried today. We have to take this game as it is and move on to the next game."

Petratos' frustration was palpable as he reflected on a match where Mohun Bagan struggled to convert their possession and chances into goals. Despite dominating the game, they were unable to find a breakthrough against a resolute Ravshan defense.

The team created multiple opportunities, yet a combination of misfires in the final third and Ravshan's disciplined defending kept the scoreline unchanged. Petratos' comments highlighted the growing concern over the team's recent performances, extending their winless run to three matches.

When questioned about a potential penalty incident in the 91st minute, Petratos' frustration reached a peak. In the dying moments of the game, the forward's shot was blocked by the Ravshan goalkeeper, and Petratos believed he was fouled in the process by a Ravshan defender. However, the referee chose not to award a penalty, a decision that drew a frustrated reaction from the Mohun Bagan camp.

Asked about his thoughts on the incident, Petratos offered a tense and somewhat evasive response. "What do you think, you tell me, my friend?" he retorted, clearly holding back his true feelings. He then added, "I don't want to say anything about the referees today, to be honest."

His remarks pointed at the sense of injustice felt by the team, who believed they deserved a late chance to secure the win from the penalty spot.

This goalless draw has put added pressure on Mohun Bagan as they look to regroup and address their issues ahead of their next match against NorthEast United on September 23 at home in the Indian Super League.
