Paris Saint-Germain Secures Dominant 4-1 Victory Against Montpellier With Ramos Hat-Trick

In a commanding performance, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Montpellier 4-1, highlighted by Goncalo Ramos' hat-trick. This victory marks PSG's continued dominance in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a commanding 4-1 victory over Montpellier, following their Champions League final qualification. Goncalo Ramos was the star, scoring a hat-trick. Despite making nine changes after their semi-final win against Arsenal, PSG dominated the match. The team fielded their youngest-ever lineup in Ligue 1 history, with an average age of just over 21 years.

The match saw PSG take the lead just before halftime when Senny Mayulu scored from the edge of the box. Four minutes into the second half, Ramos extended their advantage, converting Ibrahim Mbaye's cross with a deflection past Benjamin Lecomte. Ramos then scored from the penalty spot after Desire Doue was fouled by Jordan Ferri.

PSG Wins 4-1 Against Montpellier with Ramos' Hat-Trick

Montpellier briefly threatened a comeback when Tanguy Coulibaly found the bottom corner. However, Ramos quickly restored PSG's three-goal cushion with another goal. He completed his hat-trick with a stunning finish, controlling Arnau Tenas' long pass and firing in off the crossbar.

Ramos marked his 50th Ligue 1 appearance by contributing significantly to PSG's success this season. He has been involved in 13 goals during this campaign, surpassing his previous season's tally. This match also marked his first top-flight hat-trick for either Benfica or PSG.

In an interesting milestone during the game, Mayulu's goal was assisted by Warren Zaire-Emery. It was notable as it was the first time two players born in 2006 or later combined for a goal in Ligue 1.

Montpellier's Struggles Continue

For Montpellier, this defeat added to a challenging season where they have lost 25 out of their 33 matches, setting a new record for defeats in an 18-team league. They have also conceded 76 goals this season, marking another unwanted record for them.

PSG's dominance over Montpellier continues as they have now won their last 12 Ligue 1 encounters against them. Their last non-victory against Montpellier dates back to April 2019 when they suffered a narrow defeat.

The comprehensive win further solidifies PSG's stronghold at the top of French football and highlights their attacking prowess as they average four goals per game against Montpellier during this winning streak.
