Alessandro Nesta has returned to Monza as their new manager, just seven weeks after his dismissal. The 48-year-old takes over from Salvatore Bocchetti, who was appointed in December with a contract until June 2027. Bocchetti managed only one victory in seven matches, culminating in a 5-1 loss to Lazio, leaving Monza at the bottom of the Serie A table.
Bocchetti's tenure saw Monza score only six goals across seven games, resulting in a win percentage of just 14.29%. His departure from Stadio Brianteo came after a disappointing run that left the team eight points away from safety. Nesta now faces the challenge of improving Monza's performance and securing their place in Serie A.

Nesta initially took charge of Monza following Raffaele Palladino's move to Fiorentina at last season's end. However, his first stint as a Serie A manager lasted only 175 days. During this period, the former AC Milan and Lazio defender secured just three wins out of 20 matches across all competitions.
With his return, Nesta is tasked with revitalising Monza's fortunes. His first game back will be against Lecce, who are currently placed 14th in the league. This match is set to take place at Stadio Brianteo on Sunday.
The club officially announced Nesta's reinstatement through a tweet: "AC Monza comunica di aver revocato lesonero di Alessandro Nesta, che assume nuovamente lincarico di allenatore della Prima Squadra biancorossa." This translates to "AC Monza announces the revocation of Alessandro Nesta's dismissal, who once again assumes the role of head coach of the First Team."
Nesta's return brings hope for improvement as he aims to steer Monza away from relegation danger. The upcoming match against Lecce will be crucial for setting the tone for his second tenure at the club.
Monza supporters are eager to see if Nesta can turn around their team's fortunes and guide them towards better results in Serie A. With a challenging task ahead, all eyes will be on how he manages this opportunity to lead Monza forward.
