Morgan Rogers Price Tag Prompts Reaction As Arsenal Eye Aston Villa Star
Morgan Rogers has responded with humour to reports that Aston Villa could demand 130m amid transfer interest from Arsenal. The attacking midfielder questioned such a valuation while on World Cup duty with England, even as recent performances for Unai Emery's team and growing attention from major clubs continue to raise Rogers' profile.
Rogers played a central role in Villa's 2025-26 campaign, scoring 10 Premier League goals as the team finished fourth. That marked Aston Villa's second top-four league finish in three seasons. In that league campaign, only Ollie Watkins recorded more goal involvements for Villa, finishing with 19 across the season.

The 23-year-old also helped Aston Villa secure the Europa League title in 2025-26, beating Freiburg 3-0 in the final in Istanbul. That victory ended Villa's 44-year wait for a major European trophy, following the club's European Cup success in 1982, and strengthened Rogers' status as one of the team's key attacking players.
Rogers' displays earned a call-up to Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the World Cup, and reports suggest Arsenal are monitoring the situation. Villa are said to want 130m before considering a sale, a figure that would surpass the 116m Manchester City have agreed to pay Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson, setting a new record for a British player.
Asked about that possible fee at England's World Cup training base, Rogers replied: "I'm not sure I'm worth all that! Of course, it's nice to hear that from people. But I don't let outside noise dictate things for me. I'm just going to keep focused, keep being me, keep being the person that got me here and keep trying to improve. I don't really listen to stuff like that." Aston Villa now look towards facing Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup on August 12, before starting the 2026-27 Premier League season at Brighton on August 23 and hosting Arsenal at Villa Park on the weekend of August 29 or 30.
