Euro Golden Boot Winners

Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Portugal, clinched the Euro 2020 Golden Boot, edging out Czech Republic's Patrik Schick. Scoring under the pressure of national expectations is a challenge few can meet. Those who do are rewarded with Golden Boot at the UEFA Euro.

Since the European championship began in 1960, 12 players have won the Golden Boot. Cristiano Ronaldo is the latest winner in 2020. The award has been shared four times.

From 2008, tie-breakers include assists and game time. If players have the same goals, the one with more assists wins. If assists are also tied, the player with fewer minutes wins.

France's Michel Platini holds the record for most goals in a single Euro edition, scoring nine in 1984. Antoine Griezmann came close with six goals in 2016 and added one more in 2020.
