Thiago Motta emphasised the importance of Juventus securing consecutive victories, as they have drawn more matches than any other Serie A team this season. Despite remaining unbeaten in 18 league games for only the third time, Juventus find themselves fifth in Serie A with 11 draws, trailing leaders Napoli by 12 points.
The upcoming match marks the 183rd Turin derby since 1929-30. Juventus have dominated Torino, losing just once in their last 36 official encounters since 2000. They have also kept three consecutive clean sheets against Torino in the league. Achieving four shutouts in a row would be their first since a streak of ten between 2002 and 2014.

Motta acknowledged improvements under his management but stressed the need for more wins. "It's essential for us to find continuity in our results. We need to improve and give our best every day to achieve victory," Motta stated on Friday. In their last 26 matches, Juventus have only suffered two losses, one in the Champions League and another in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final.
For the upcoming match against Torino, Motta confirmed that Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus' top scorer with seven goals this season, Francisco Conceicao, and suspended Manuel Locatelli will be unavailable. Douglas Luiz might get an opportunity to play in midfield.
Douglas Luiz joined Juventus from Aston Villa in June and has made nine Serie A appearances, including two starts. Although he hasn't scored or assisted yet, he has created nine chances over 294 minutes. "He [Douglas Luiz] is a high-level midfielder who can play in the three positions we use," said Motta. "He can score goals and provide the final pass; he has creativity and knows how to build up."
Motta hinted at appointing a new captain as veteran defender Danilo may leave the club soon. "Without Manu [Locatelli], you will see who is the captain tomorrow," Motta mentioned. He highlighted that recognition from teammates is crucial for leadership development within the team.
The coach believes there is always room for emerging leaders who set examples through their actions on and off the field.
