David Moyes, the manager of Everton, is eager to bring in more players after securing Thierno Barry's transfer. Barry, who netted 11 goals for Villarreal in LaLiga last season, was a top priority for Everton's new management. The club announced on Wednesday that the 22-year-old France Under-21 striker joined for £27.5 million (€32 million) plus performance-related bonuses.
Everton needed a centre-forward following Dominic Calvert-Lewin's departure on a free transfer at June's end. Barry is Everton's second signing this transfer window, following Carlos Alcaraz's permanent move from loan. Moyes is keen to add more players to the squad soon.

Moyes expressed his excitement about Barry joining the team, stating on Everton’s official website: "We are delighted to have brought Thierno to the club. We see lots of potential and we are hoping for good things from him." Moyes also mentioned giving Barry ample time to adjust and looks forward to working with him soon.
Barry's arrival aims to create strong competition for Beto, who performed well under Moyes since January. Beto scored seven Premier League goals during this period, while Barry had an impressive overall season. He began by scoring eight goals across all competitions for Basel before moving to Villarreal.
Moyes hopes to leverage Barry’s aerial skills, as only three players had more headed shots than him in LaLiga last season. Despite having the 10th most shots in Spain’s top division, he fell short of his expected 12.5 goals by 1.5.
With these additions, Everton aims to bolster their attacking options and improve their performance in upcoming matches. The club remains active in the transfer market as they seek further reinforcements.
