Mumbai City FC sign Daniel Lalhlimpuia ahead of ISL season

Mumbai City FC has announced the acquisition of Daniel Lalhlimpuia on a free transfer. The forward has signed a one-year contract, which will keep him with the team until the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

Daniel Lalhlimpuia expressed his excitement about joining the club stating, "It's a dream come true for me to join Mumbai City FC. The club's environment is highly regarded, and I'm excited to train with the best players in the country. I can't wait to begin this new chapter of my life with Mumbai City and contribute in every way possible to help the team achieve its objectives for the upcoming season."

Originating from Mizoram, Daniel began his football journey at the Chandigarh Football Academy before progressing to the AIFF Elite Academy. He has represented India at various youth levels and captained the U-19 team. In 2016, he made his debut for the senior national team.

At Bengaluru FC, Daniel made his professional debut in the I-League. He gained Indian Super League experience through a loan spell with Chennaiyin FC and later played for Delhi Dynamos, Odisha FC, and Punjab FC. Over his career, he has accumulated more than 130 club appearances.

Daniel's playing style aligns well with Mumbai City's philosophy and values. His inclusion is expected to bolster the team's attacking options significantly. The 26-year-old played for Punjab last season and scored 1 goal.
