Daniel Lalhlimpuia expressed his excitement about joining the club stating, "It's a dream come true for me to join Mumbai City FC. The club's environment is highly regarded, and I'm excited to train with the best players in the country. I can't wait to begin this new chapter of my life with Mumbai City and contribute in every way possible to help the team achieve its objectives for the upcoming season."

Originating from Mizoram, Daniel began his football journey at the Chandigarh Football Academy before progressing to the AIFF Elite Academy. He has represented India at various youth levels and captained the U-19 team. In 2016, he made his debut for the senior national team.
At Bengaluru FC, Daniel made his professional debut in the I-League. He gained Indian Super League experience through a loan spell with Chennaiyin FC and later played for Delhi Dynamos, Odisha FC, and Punjab FC. Over his career, he has accumulated more than 130 club appearances.
Petr Kratky, Head Coach of Mumbai City FC, shared his thoughts on Daniel's signing: "Daniel is a talented player who fits our playing style and is committed to working hard. We believe he will be a great addition to our attacking unit and can contribute to achieving our targets. We welcome Daniel to the club and look forward to working with him."
Daniel's playing style aligns well with Mumbai City's philosophy and values. His inclusion is expected to bolster the team's attacking options significantly. The 26-year-old played for Punjab last season and scored 1 goal.
