Mumbai City vs Mohammedan SC: Mumbai City FC delivered a stellar performance, defeating Mohammedan SC 3-0 at the Mumbai Football Arena in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25. With this win, the Islanders have climbed to fifth place in the standings, amassing 27 points from 17 matches.

The match saw Mumbai City FC maintain 69.3% possession, converting all three shots on target into goals. The first half featured relentless attacks from the Islanders, with Bipin Singh orchestrating the offense. Early on, Bipin missed a couple of close chances.

That included a high shot and another saved by Mohammedan SC's goalkeeper, Padam Chhetri. Mohammedan SC attempted to counter through Franca and Vanlalzuidika Chhakchhuak, but their efforts were off-target.

The second half began with Mumbai City FC continuing their attacking momentum. In the 46th minute, Lallianzuala Chhangte showcased his skill with a brilliant attempt, but the ball ricocheted off the woodwork.

The breakthrough finally came in the 72nd minute when Gaurav Bora's miscalculated header resulted in an own goal, giving Mumbai the lead. Bora's troubles compounded in the 78th minute.

Chhangte's powerful shot deflected off Bora and found the back of the net, doubling Mumbai City FC's advantage. The Islanders sealed their victory in the 86th minute, thanks to Thaer Krouma's composed finish from the center of the box after a defensive misclearance.

Lallianzuala Chhangte was the standout performer, completing 26 out of 32 passes, creating two goal-scoring opportunities, and scoring once. His pace and precision overwhelmed Mohammedan SC's defense, leaving them unable to recover.

With this dominant win, Mumbai City FC displayed their title ambitions, while Mohammedan SC struggled to keep up. The Islanders will next face East Bengal FC on January 31, while Mohammedan SC will take on Mohun Bagan Super Giant on February 1.
