Nantes Draws 1-1 With Paris Saint-Germain As Augusto Scores Late Equaliser

In a tightly contested match, Nantes secured a late equaliser against Paris Saint-Germain, ending the game at 1-1. PSG remains unbeaten this season, while Nantes aims to avoid relegation.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) played to a 1-1 draw against Nantes on Tuesday. Despite the result, Luis Enrique's team remains on track for an unbeaten Ligue 1 season. The first half saw Nantes adopting a defensive strategy, relying on counter-attacks. Vitinha scored for PSG in the 33rd minute with a low half-volley from a Lee Kang-in pass.

Nantes increased their intensity after halftime. Jean-Charles Castelletto forced a notable save from PSG's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma around the 60th minute. Douglas Augusto equalised seven minutes before the end with a shot from outside the box, following Matthis Abline's strong run.

Nantes and PSG Share Points in Ligue 1

Despite not securing a win, PSG achieved a milestone by remaining unbeaten in 39 away Ligue 1 games. This streak includes 30 wins and nine draws, surpassing AC Milan's previous record of 38 matches between 1991 and 1993. Their last away defeat was against Monaco in February 2023.

Goncalo Ramos nearly clinched victory for PSG in stoppage time, but his header hit the crossbar. Nantes secured an important point in their fight to avoid relegation, now four points ahead of Le Havre with four matches left.

This season marks the first since 2002-03 that Nantes avoided defeat against PSG in both league encounters, drawing twice. Across these two matches, PSG completed an impressive total of 1,717 passes—935 at home and 782 away—the highest recorded since Opta began collecting data in Ligue 1 during the 2006-07 season.

PSG had already clinched the title earlier this month and currently lead second-placed Marseille by 23 points. They are closing in on completing an invincible campaign, despite conceding most of their goals—20 out of 28—in the second half this season.

The match highlighted both teams' strengths and weaknesses as they approach the season's conclusion. While PSG aims for an unbeaten record, Nantes focuses on securing their place in Ligue 1 for next season.
