Napoli Triumphs Over Juventus 2-1 As Lukaku Scores Winning Penalty

Romelu Lukaku's penalty in the second half secured a crucial 2-1 win for Serie A leaders Napoli against Juventus, marking Juventus' first league loss this season. This victory also widened Napoli's lead at the top to six points over Inter, who are set to play Lecce on Sunday at Stadio Ettore Giardiniero.

Juventus began the match with energy, as Kenan Yildiz was the first to challenge Alex Meret. Matteo Politano then shot over after some impressive play from Frank Anguissa. Just before halftime, Randal Kolo Muani, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, scored on his debut with a volley.

Frank Anguissa equalised shortly before the hour mark by heading Politano's cross past Michele Di Gregorio. The comeback was completed 12 minutes later when Scott McTominay was fouled in the box by Manuel Locatelli. Lukaku converted the resulting penalty, scoring his ninth Serie A goal of the season.

Lukaku's penalty against Juventus marked his 200th goal in Europe's top five leagues. He has consistently demonstrated his scoring ability, contributing to goals or assists in four consecutive Serie A matches for the first time since April to June 2023.

Lukaku became only the second player in Serie A history to score against Juventus while playing for Inter, Roma, and Napoli, following Amedeo Amadei. Meanwhile, Napoli have achieved seven consecutive Serie A victories for the first time since January-February 2023 under Luciano Spalletti.

This win not only highlights Napoli's current form but also underscores Lukaku's significant impact on their success this season. His consistent performance continues to be a key factor in their pursuit of the league title.
