
Bengaluru, August 24: Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne has admitted that playing for Barcelona would be a fantasy, however, at the moment he is glad to stay in Italy at Naples.
The 26-year-old Italian international is one of the few names that has been linked with a move to Barcelona in this window who hope to spend a portion of £198million that they received for the sale of Neymar to PSG.
The winger since the last two years has established himself as one of the promising players in Europe and has continued his progress this season as he helped Napoli advance to the final rounds of the Champions League with a 2-0 victory against Lucian Favre's Nice on Tuesday (August 22) night, overall winning with a 4-0 margin.
Jose Callejon extended Napoli's first leg advantage in the 48th moment of the playoff second round tie, giving them an away goal which, added to their 2-0 win from the first leg.
Insigne included another goal later in the game as the Serie A side finished an agreeable 4-0 total win and after the match, the Azzurri talked about the possibility of a transfer to the Catalan side.
The £60m rated attacking player, who has also been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea in the past, suggested he respects the rumours but assured he wants to remain in Napoli.
"I thank you for the compliments, but I want to keep doing well with this shirt because I always wanted it," he told 'Mediaset Premium'.
"Barcelona is the dream for everyone but for now I have the dream of Naples with me."
Insigne bagged twenty goals and helped with 12 assists for Napoli last season as the club finished third in Italian league and the Naples side will hope this time they can break the deadlock by winning their first Serie A title since 1990.
