As the 2024-25 Serie A season reaches its decisive final day, the battle for the title between Napoli and Inter Milan will also come to an end. With both teams preparing to compete indirectly via their respective matches today, Friday (May 23), fans across the football world are left wondering who will celebrate after this season’s Serie A.

Napoli, sitting atop the table by just a single point, are set to welcome Cagliari at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, while Inter Milan, currently in second, face a difficult away challenge against an in-form Como side.

Serie A 2024-25: Napoli and Inter Milan's Recent Form

Under the leadership of Antonio Conte, Napoli have had a standout season following a disappointing defense of their title last year. They’ve been notably consistent, with only four losses in the league. However, back-to-back draws in their last two outings could be a cause for concern for Conte.

In contrast, Inter Milan, the reigning champions, have experienced a more inconsistent run. Despite boasting a talented squad, they’ve been hampered by fixture congestion and injuries to key players. Defeats to Bologna and AS Roma in April significantly impacted their title push, allowing Napoli to take the lead. However, Inter recently beat Barcelona in the UCL semi-finals and are set to face PSG in the final.

Napoli and Inter Milan - Who Will Win Serie A title Today?

Napoli will host Cagliari, a side in the league’s lower half. Given Napoli’s strong home form, their matchup against Cagliari gives them a marginal advantage. Napoli boasts the best defence this season, having allowed only 27 goals. However, their offence has been less potent, with only 57 goals scored. As a result, Cagliari’s defensive setup might challenge them, especially as Napoli failed to score in their last two games.

Inter Milan are up against Como away, a team that has impressed under Cesc Fabregas. It’s likely to be a more difficult clash for Inter. Como have been a surprise package this season, and their home performance might test an Inter team struggling with injuries and fatigue. Inter’s better goal difference means a win keeps them in contention, but any misstep could see Napoli clinch the title.

If both sides win, the standings remain unchanged and Napoli will take the championship. If Inter draw and Napoli lose, Inter will claim the title on goal difference. Therefore, Inter must at least draw and also rely on Napoli’s result. Given Napoli’s favourable matchup against Cagliari and their steady run under Conte, they are slightly favoured to secure the necessary win to capture the Scudetto.
