Napoli pushing to sign fringe Barcelona midfielder in Summer

Rome, March 13: Napoli are again gearing up a bid to sign fringe Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez in Summer after failing to land him in the winter window, according to reports.

The Italian giants boss Sarri has reportedly prioritised the Barcelona midfielder one of their main targets of the Summer and the Napoli hierarchy is reportedly already pushing for a move.

Suarez was also strongly linked with Spurs over the two transfer windows along with the Serie A giants. But in the winter window, as per reports, Napoli had looked to be leading the race for the Catalan player's signature.

However, the player's decision to stay at the club to fight for his place and dispute over transfer fee and negotiations between two clubs somehow closed the deal from happening.

But now as per reports from Spain, Napoli are ready to regenerate their interest in the Summer and want to tempt him in the summer with assurances of first-team football.

Suarez was bought as an academy player of the Catalan side from Manchester City in 2013 but after failing to make his place in the Barcelona squad permanent he eventually left the club in 2015 for Villareal.

However, he re-joined Barcelona last summer from Villarreal following impressive display after Barcelona exercised the buy-back clause of £3m but now again the player has struggled for regular games.

He has appeared only in 13 matches overall competition this season, starting only three La Liga games however still boasts an impressive campaign, scoring twice and assisting thrice.

But with the signing of midfielder Paulinho, Phillipe Coutinho, Dembele and most recently another midfielder Arthur, he is further likely to drop down the pecking order.

Now reportedly, with such condition, the young midfielder has agreed to move on and Barcelona are also rumoured to be willing to sell the 23-year-old priced around in the region of €30 million.

The player is currently out injured up to three weeks with a groin injury after picking up a knock in the first half of Wednesday's Catalan Super Cup win against Espanyol.
