Napoli's Giovanni Manna Declares Club Will Not Overpay For Alejandro Garnacho Transfer

Napoli's sporting director Giovanni Manna stated the club will only make bids for Alejandro Garnacho that reflect market value. Despite interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, Napoli aims to strengthen their squad without exceeding financial limits.

Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has made it clear that the club will not pay excessive fees for Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine winger has attracted interest from both Napoli and Chelsea. Napoli is searching for a replacement after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's recent move to Paris Saint-Germain. Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi is also on their radar.

Manna emphasised that while Garnacho and Adeyemi are of interest, Napoli will only make offers that align with market values. "These are two names that are of interest to us, they are players we like, but they are not the only ones," Manna stated to DAZN before Napoli's 2-1 victory over Juventus in Serie A on Saturday.

Manna: Napoli Will Not Overpay for Garnacho

Manna further explained that the club is assessing various options and opportunities in the transfer market. He stressed that Napoli would not exceed market value prices. "We are trying to evaluate a few things and looking at the opportunities, but we certainly will not pay prices that are outside the market value," he added.

Kvaratskhelia made his debut for PSG in a 1-1 draw against Reims, assisting Ousmane Dembele's goal. Despite losing their Georgian star, Manna assured fans that Napoli would reinvest the transfer funds wisely to find a suitable replacement.

Manna acknowledged the necessity of Kvaratskhelia's sale due to player desires and club dynamics. He stated, "We made this sale that unfortunately was necessary for what the player wanted and our dynamics." He also highlighted the importance of adhering to financial parameters regarding transfer fees and salaries.

Garnacho remains under contract with Manchester United until 2028. Reports suggest United have already rejected one offer from Napoli. However, financial constraints at Old Trafford might provide an opportunity for Napoli to secure Garnacho before the January transfer window closes.

Manna reassured fans that while they are exploring potential signings, they won't create unrealistic expectations. "We are evaluating a few situations; it would not be right to give our fans false hope, but we will certainly do what is best to improve the squad," he concluded.
