Ronald Koeman is urging the Netherlands to maintain their positive momentum as they prepare to face Hungary. The Dutch team, who reached the Euro 2024 semi-finals, have started their Nations League Group A3 campaign without a loss, securing four points from two matches. They began with a 5-2 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina and followed it up with a 2-2 draw against Germany.
Koeman's side will travel to the Puskas Arena for their next match on Friday. The head coach emphasises the importance of building on their strong performances. "I've showed the players what was good and why it was good. The football was good," Koeman stated during a pre-match press conference. He highlighted their depth, chance creation, and effective transitions as key strengths.

The Dutch coach noted an increase in training intensity, with competition for places driving performance. "The energy was also good, and I saw that this week in training, too. I see that the bar is going up in the training," Koeman observed. Injuries in defence and midfield have opened opportunities for other players to step up.
Despite being favourites against Hungary, Koeman remains cautious about underestimating their opponents. Hungary surprised many by defeating England twice and Germany in the previous Nations League edition. "To be honest, I was quite surprised that Hungary had a good chance of reaching the final four," he admitted.
Koeman acknowledged Hungary's potential threat despite recent inconsistent results. "They still have many of the same players. I don't understand why their recent results have not been as impressive, but we should not think that we are just easily going to win this," he warned.
The Netherlands aims to continue their unbeaten run while remaining vigilant against Hungary's capabilities. With increased competition within the squad and strategic focus on maintaining positive gameplay aspects, Koeman hopes his team can secure another victory.
The upcoming match presents an opportunity for the Netherlands to solidify their position in Group A3. By focusing on maintaining high standards in both training and matches, they aim to build on their current form and achieve success against Hungary.
