The match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium saw both teams score within the first six minutes, with Isak clinching the winner in the 38th minute.

Spurs' defensive frailties were evident when Gordon equalised just over two minutes after Solanke's opener. Isak then capitalised on Radu Dragusin's error to put Newcastle ahead, scoring in his seventh consecutive league game. Despite Spurs' efforts, including Brennan Johnson hitting the post and James Maddison's attempt going wide, they couldn't find an equaliser.

Newcastle held firm during a prolonged period of stoppage time in the second half to secure their place in fifth position. Meanwhile, Spurs remain in the lower half of the table. Alexander Isak is proving to be one of the Premier League's standout strikers this season. He became only the third player for Newcastle to score in seven consecutive league matches, following Alan Shearer and Joe Willock. Although his goal against Spurs was from close range, it required quick reflexes.

Anthony Gordon has also been influential for Newcastle recently. In his last five league games, he has either scored or assisted in each match. Against Tottenham alone, he has two goals and two assists, more than against any other team in the competition.

Spurs' Struggles Persist

Despite creating chances late on, Spurs struggled to convert them into goals. Solanke remains a bright spot for them; he has scored more goals within the first five minutes of Premier League games than any other player since last season began. However, Spurs finished with an expected goals tally of just 0.8 compared to Newcastle's 1.1.

The performance of Newcastle's number 10 likely caught the attention of England manager Thomas Tuchel. Solanke might also have impressed Tuchel with his early scoring prowess despite Spurs' overall struggles.
