Paris Saint Germain superstar Neymar has dealt with yet another blow as reports now have indicated that the Brazilian superstar will miss the remainder of the season.
The 31-year-old came off the field after twisting his ankle in the second half of a win against LOSC Lille on February 19. Initially, it was understood that the Brazilian will be on the sideline for a couple of weeks. But now as per reports, he will be out for up to four months and is due to undergo surgery.
Neymar has always been the focus of rival players who are eager to take him out and prevent him from controlling the match. As a result, he has been on the receiving end of some strong challenges and injuries which is quite common for someone as talented and skillful as him. However, it seems the Latin American hotshot is finding it difficult to cope with the hurts lately.
Ever since his move to PSG in 2017, things look to have gotten worse for Neymar. In each of his last five seasons, Neymar has been on the sidelines for a big period of time and collectively he has already missed more than 100 games for PSG.
Metatarsal fracture
Most of Neymar's significant absence has been due to the Metatarsal fracture he suffered twice in his PSG career. A metatarsal fracture put pay to his appearance at the start of 2018 in February. Neymar suffered the injury against Marseille in Ligue 1 and it sidelined him for three months. He missed 16 games in this period. He suffered the same injury to his right foot almost a year after in 2019 and it put him on the treatment table for 18 games. Both these years, he missed knockout games against Real Madrid and Manchester United respectively which saw PSG getting knocked out of the tournament.
