London, August 3: Barcelona have given Neymar permission to join PSG - if his £198m release clause is made. The Brazilian has asked to leave the club and head to France. But La Liga bosses are ready to throw a spanner in the works.
They've refused to sanction the deal, claiming PSG'S £198m offer will shatter Financial Fair Play regulations, reported the Daily Star.
A spokesman for La Liga president Javier Tebas said: "We will not accept the money for the liberation clause, the reason is that we have doubts that this money is in accordance with UEFA Financial Fair Play rules."
PSG and Neymar's lawyers attempted to pay the release clause in his contract this morning, Sky Sports report. They say five lawyers turned up the HQ of the Spanish league near Madrid airport. But they were sent backing after just 15 minutes following the statement of intent from La Liga top brass.
Reports in France suggest a five-year contract to bring Neymar to Ligue 1 could be finalised this week. He's set to pocket a staggering £540,000 each week after tax.
