Brazilian club Santos has confirmed that Neymar has tested positive for Covid-19. The club released a statement on Saturday stating the news.
Neymar, who joined Santos in January, is not part of the squad since Thursday and is currently undergoing treatment.

"With a viral condition that began on Thursday (June 5), Neymar Jr. underwent laboratory tests, after evaluation by the Medical Department of Santos FC, which confirmed infection by Covid-19," a statement from the Brazilian club read.
"The player had already been away from activities since Thursday, when he began showing symptoms, and remains resting at home and undergoing symptomatic treatment, as determined by a doctor," it added.
The 33-year-old is reportedly in a stable condition and is being monitored closely at home. Since joining his boyhood club, Neymar has played 12 matches, scoring 3 goals and having 3 assists. The former Barcelona player received a Red Card in the last match against Botafogo, which means he was suspended for the upcoming Serie A match against Fortaleza.
As per the latest proceedings, Neymar shall only return to football in July. After the June 13 match against Fortaleza, the Brazilian league will take a break for a month and then resume again in the middle of July. Hence, the star player is expected to play again at least after a month.
