Neymar's underwhelming stint with Al Hilal has come to an end, as the Brazilian star mutually agreed to part ways with the Saudi club.
On Monday, the club announced the termination of his deal, ending a difficult spell marred by injuries. Neymar suffered a ruptured ACL during Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Uruguay in October 2023. Despite a brief return last year, recurring fitness issues kept him sidelined.

Reports suggest Neymar will forgo $25-30 million of his salary as part of the agreement. Now a free agent, the 31-year-old is expected to find a new club before the January transfer window closes.
Neymar's time at Al-Hilal was disappointing, featuring just seven appearances across all competitions and a single goal, scored in the AFC Champions League against Nassaji Mazandaran. Fans will now watch closely to see if Neymar's next move can reignite his career.
Neymar is poised to join Brazilian club Santos, a club in which he started his career. The Brazil international was particularly interested in joining Santos and wanted the move by this month. As per reports, Neymar will be unveiled either on Thursday (Jan 30) or Friday (Jan 31) by the club.
Neymar will be taking a massive pay-cut as he moves to Santos. The former Barcelona player was earning a tax free salary of €1.5 million at Al Hilal. But when it comes to Santos, their current highest-paid player earns around €24,360 per week, which is staggeringly lower than Neymar's daily wage as well.
If Neymar earns around €50,000 per week at Santos (this is only a speculation), that would mean a 96.67 % pay cut for him.
But one thing is for sure. The Brazil star has no salary negotiation intentions in mind. Neymar was adamant to play for Santos and thus gave up millions in his salaries at Al Hilal. The primary focus he has now is to regain full fitness and showcase his might.
