Nikita Parris has departed Brighton after her contract ended, with expectations of joining the London City Lionesses. Parris, who was part of England's Euro 2022-winning team, has netted 17 goals in 74 international matches. She joined Brighton from Manchester United in September 2024 and scored seven goals in 22 league appearances, helping the Seagulls secure their best-ever fifth-place finish in the Women's Super League.
Parris also contributed five assists during her time at Brighton. Only Lauren Hemp, Mary Fowler, Celin Bizet, and Viviane Asseyi managed more assists in the league. Her move to the London City Lionesses is anticipated after a medical examination scheduled for Tuesday. The Lionesses recently topped the Women's Championship ahead of Birmingham City last season.

Brighton coach Dario Vidosic praised Parris for her significant impact on the team's success. "Nikita has played a vital role in helping us achieve our highest-ever WSL finish," he stated on the club's website. He highlighted her professionalism and influence on younger players as key factors in their achievements.
Vidosic further acknowledged Parris' leadership and tactical awareness, which provided consistency in attack. "Her goals and tactical awareness have offered consistency and leadership in the final third," he added. The club expressed gratitude for her contributions and wished her well in her future endeavours.
In March, Parris reached a milestone by becoming only the fourth player to achieve 100 goal involvements in WSL history. She has scored 67 goals and provided 33 assists. Vivianne Miedema, Beth Mead, and Bethany England are the only players with more contributions.
Despite her impressive record, Parris was not included in England's squad for Euro 2025. Earlier this year, she had been recalled to Sarina Wiegman's team but did not make the final selection for the tournament.
The next chapter of Parris' career seems promising as she transitions to London City Lionesses. Her experience and skills will likely be valuable assets to her new team as they aim for further success.
