Arne Slot has dismissed the idea of resting Liverpool's key players for their upcoming match against Manchester United. Liverpool currently lead the Premier League by six points over Arsenal, with a game in hand. Meanwhile, Manchester United are struggling in 14th place, having lost their last four matches across all competitions.
Despite the gap between these two rivals, Slot believes United's current standing doesn't reflect their true potential. He anticipates an improvement under new head coach Ruben Amorim. "No, of course not," said Slot when questioned about resting players. "For me, they have much better players than maybe the league table shows at the moment."

A significant factor in Liverpool's strong performance this season is Mohamed Salah's exceptional form. Salah has contributed to 30 Premier League goals for Liverpool this season, with 17 goals and 13 assists. He has scored and assisted in eight different games, setting a record for a single campaign.
This marks the fifth time Salah has achieved over 30 goal involvements in a season, equalling Alan Shearer's record in Premier League history. Additionally, Salah holds an impressive record against Manchester United, having scored 12 goals and provided six assists against them—more than any other player in Premier League history.
Liverpool manager Slot confirmed that Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley have returned to training. However, Joe Gomez will be sidelined for several weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained during a match against West Ham.
When asked if Salah is currently the world's best player, Slot noted the difficulty of comparing players from different positions and competitions. "If I only look at my own team," he said, "Virgil [van Dijk] also has an outstanding season but he doesn’t have the numbers because he is a defender."
Slot remains confident that Ruben Amorim will eventually bring out the best in Manchester United's squad. "He's done so well at Sporting and I think he has a good squad of players so he will eventually bring the best out of them," Slot added.
Liverpool have dominated recent encounters with Manchester United, losing just one of their last 13 Premier League meetings (seven wins and five draws). Their sole defeat came at Old Trafford in August 2022 with a scoreline of 2-1.
