Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Noni Madueke is set to leave Chelsea for Arsenal. The forward is expected to join the Gunners after a reported agreement of around £50 million. Madueke left Chelsea's Club World Cup camp on Friday to return to London for a medical examination at Arsenal.
Since the 2024-25 season began, Madueke has scored 11 goals, including a hat-trick against Wolves in the Premier League. He also provided four assists across 46 matches in all competitions. Among Chelsea players, only Cole Palmer attempted more shots than Madueke, who ranked fourth in goals scored.

Maresca mentioned in his press conference before the final that he anticipates Madueke's transfer to Arsenal will be announced soon. "Noni is in contact with the new club, and I guess he is going to be [announced soon]," Maresca told reporters.
When asked why Chelsea would sell a player to a direct competitor, Maresca explained: "I said in one of the last press conferences that if players want to leave, then it is difficult for the club and the manager. Noni decided to leave. Nobody told Noni he had to leave. If he is happy, we are happy."
Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV in January 2023 on a seven-and-a-half-year contract. His first goal for Chelsea came against Arsenal in May of that year. Despite featuring in five matches leading up to the Club World Cup final, he will not participate against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
Maresca's comments highlight the challenges clubs face when players choose to move on. The decision was ultimately Madueke's own, as no one at Chelsea forced him out. Both parties seem content with his choice.
The forward's imminent move marks another chapter in his career as he prepares to join Arsenal. His contributions at Chelsea have been notable, but now he looks ahead to new opportunities with the Gunners.
