By Rasmi Biswas

NorthEast United FC crushed Jamshedpur FC with an emphatic 5-0 victory in a dominant performance that showcased the Highlanders' offensive prowess. Ajaraie was the standout star, earning the Player of the Match accolade for his impressive contributions, including a brace that bookended NorthEast United's relentless attack.

The match started with a bang as Ajaraie opened the scoring just five minutes in, launching a spectacular long-range effort that beat the Jamshedpur goalkeeper. This early goal set the tone for the match, as the Highlanders maintained control while Jamshedpur struggled to recover.

Things worsened for the Men of Steel as defender Stephen Eze was sent off in the 29th minute after receiving a second yellow card, leaving Jamshedpur with just ten men. NorthEast United capitalized on this advantage, with Ajaraie continuing to press forward, orchestrating attacks and assisting teammates.

In the 43rd minute, Parthib Gogoi doubled the lead for NorthEast United after a well-timed assist from Ajaraie, sending his team into halftime with a comfortable two-goal cushion. Despite Jamshedpur's attempt to reorganize at the break, including bringing on two new attackers, NorthEast United's dominance was unrelenting.

The Highlanders extended their lead further in the 55th minute when Gogoi notched his second goal, capitalizing on another clever play. Moments later, Jamshedpur attempted a brief resurgence.

However, the Highlander's swift counter-attacks quickly quelled their momentum. Super-sub Macarton added the fourth goal with a screamer in the 82nd minute, sealing the win beyond doubt.

Ajaraie put the final nail in Jamshedpur's coffin in stoppage time, scoring his second and NorthEast United's fifth, celebrating a comprehensive performance and a clean sheet. This loss leaves Jamshedpur's manager, Khalid Jamil, with much to reflect upon.

Jamshedpur's defense absolutely crumbled under the Highlanders' relentless attacks. In front of their home fans, NorthEast United delivered an impressive display of attacking football, showcasing not only their technical skill but also the depth in their squad.
