John Abraham is over the moon following the win of his co-owned side NorthEast United! The actor says this win is the beginning of NEUFC's revival and promises to be at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for the next match against Bengaluru FC on November 26. John Abraham also urges the local fans to show up in numbers for the next game as he wasn't happy to see some of the stands completely empty!

Miguel Zabaco deservingly takes the player of the match award as he was omnipresent on the field today. Whether making crucial interceptions and tackles against Chima Chukwu or being a threatening presence in the attacking half, he was everywhere! The equaliser came from an open play, shows how desperate the Spanish centre-back was to score the equaliser

Correction: Cross for the equaliser was delivered by Ibson Melo

90+5' Jamshedpur FC defense finally makes an error as a long ball from the half life saw Philippoteaux find space to the right of the box and send in a cross to the near post! The ball is headed poorly away by a JFC defender to Zabaco on the far post and he taps it in!
90+4' Zabaco scores the equaliser for NEUFC!
90+1' NEUFC have been granted seven minutes of added time to find a way to restore parity in the game!

87' Parthib Gogoi wins a duel against Nikhil Barla on the left wing and was threatening to move into the box on the counter but Barla takes him down from behind! He is instantly booked. The resulting indirect freekick was delivered into the far post for Zabaco, who heads it weakly to Rehnesh TP for a save! A bit of power and that could have been a goal. NEUFC 0-1 JFC
85' Stevanovic is taken off for Seminlen Doungel in the closing minute. Stevanovic sees YELLOW CARD as well for time wasting as he goes back from the touchline to give the captain's armband to Rehnesh TP in the goal!
79' Ibson Melo plays an overlapping Tondonba free on the left wing following a brilliant counter-attack build-up from the right. Tondonba tries to deliver a cross to the far post but lacks any option to head it in! NEUFC look more charged up in attack in the closing minutes. NEUFC 0-1 JFC
75' Two more changes by NEUFC during the drink break as Redeem Talang and Hira Mondal join play in place of Dinesh and Gani Nigam. Meanwhile NEUFC win another indirect freekick!
70' Probably a change in formation by NEUFC boss Juan Benali as he sends in defensive midfielder Phalguni Singh for winger Jithin! Meanwhile the referee calls for a drinks break
69' NEUFC goalkeeper Mirshad comes out of the box to make a crucial clearance as Stevanovic caught the hosts on the counter and played Ritwik through to the goal with a brilliant lofted pass! Would have been 2-0 up for JFC if not for quick-thinking of Mirshad
66' What a run by Jithin as he switches to the left flank and beats two Jamshedpur defenders to run deep inside the box. Looks to set up Ibson Melo in the centre but Elsinho makes a crucial interception!
64' Close to 20 minutes of play in the second half and we are yet to see Jamshedpur reach the box on the other end as NEUFC are pushing them well through waves of attack. JFC's defense, however, continues to look impregnable NEUFC 0-1 JFC

Half Time Statistics
No improvement in the final third by NEUFC as both Parthib Gogoi and Jithin looked off-colour on the wings. It's Daniel Chima Chukwu's 19th-minute goal that gives Jamshedpur FC the slender lead of 1-0 at half time!
45+1' Three minutes added time and NEUFC continue to disappoint in attack. This time Jithin makes a run from the right flank while being shadowed by a JFC defender. He ends up shooting from a tight angle but had no control on his effort it was no way close to the target!
Jamshedpur FC will travel to Assam to face NorthEast United at their den Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Thursday (October 26) in the matchweek 5 of the ISL 2023-24.
Both sides are currently among the top six of the ISL 2023-24 season with five points each (one win, two draws, and a loss) and will prefer nothing less than a win if they wish to put up a challenge for the play-off spot.
Jamshedpur FC come into the game playing a dominant 0-0 draw at home against newcomers Punjab FC at home last week. Substitute Daniel Chima Chukwu was the bright spot from the goal-less show and is likely to take the starting spot as No. 9 while Japanese attacking midfielder Rei Tachikawa continues to impress.
NorthEast United, on the other hand, were held to a 1-1 draw by Kerala Blasters in Kochi after taking a lead through Nestor Albiach's fantastic goal before Danish Farooq restored parity with his maiden ISL goal. However, a draw in front of a packed yellow sea of fans at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium was still a big positive to take from the game.
Importantly, NEUFC were a class apart in their last home game, also their only home game so far in ISL 2023-24, as they scored three past Chennaiyin FC with youngster Parthib Gogoi, Phalguni Singh and Asheer Akhtar scoring in the demolition. Coach Juan Pedro Benali's positive football style has earned praise as he also led the perennial underachievers of ISL to the Durand Cup semifinal in the pre-season, where they narrowly went down to Mohun Bagan in Kolkata.
This will be the 13th encounter between the two ISL sides with Jamshedpur winning six of them while NorthEast United won just one while the remaining five games ended in a draw. Jamshedpur, in fact, are on a five-match unbeaten run against NEUFC, dating back to December 2020.
