Norwich City kept the Championship title race tight with a 2-1 comeback win over leaders Coventry City at Carrow Road, overturning a half-time deficit through goals from Anis Ben Slimane and Ali Ahmed, cutting Frank Lampard's side’s advantage at the top of the table to three points.
Coventry went in front after 38 minutes, when Roman Esse reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the area and drove a low finish past Vladan Kovacevic, punishing Norwich for not taking earlier chances despite sustained pressure from the home side in the opening stages.

Norwich had started on the front foot, with Ben Slimane forcing Carl Rushworth into action before Jose Cordoba’s effort struck the woodwork, pinning the Sky Blues back as the league leaders struggled to escape their own half during a difficult early spell at Carrow Road.
The hosts levelled almost immediately after the restart, needing only 34 seconds of the second half when Ahmed threaded Ben Slimane through on goal, and the midfielder showed composure to round Rushworth and finish calmly, swinging momentum towards Norwich in this Championship contest.
Coventry almost restored the lead when Ephron Mason-Clark rose well and powered a header against the frame of the goal, yet that miss proved key as Ahmed later timed a late surge into the box to meet Papa Diallo’s cross, scoring the 67th-minute winner that secured all three points.
Ahmed joined Norwich from Vancouver Whitecaps earlier in January and the 25-year-old now has two goals and two assists in three appearances, and against Coventry registered six touches in the box, attempted seven crosses, regained possession eight times alongside Kellen Fisher, and won five of nine individual duels.
The underlying numbers showed a close Championship meeting, with Coventry edging the expected goals measure 1.67 to 1.25, while Norwich attempted 16 shots to Coventry’s 15, and both sides hit the target five times, underlining how small moments and Ahmed’s influence decided the Norwich City vs Coventry City Championship fixture.
