Norwich City surged into the Championship play-off spots with a commanding 4-0 victory over Hull City at Carrow Road. Borja Sainz was instrumental, scoring once and assisting twice, as Norwich extended their unbeaten home league streak to 20 matches. The Canaries quickly took control with goals from Marcelino Nunez and Josh Sargent in the first half.
Sargent missed a penalty after Lewis Coyle's handball but soon after, Kaide Gordon added a third goal with a scrappy finish. Sainz capped off the win with his eighth league goal of the season, lobbing Ivor Pandur late in the game. This victory propelled Johannes Hoff Thorup's team to sixth place, while Hull City dropped to 11th with 12 points.

Meanwhile, Burnley missed an opportunity to top the table as they were held to a goalless draw by Preston North End at Turf Moor. Despite dominating possession, Scott Parker's team struggled to create clear chances against a resolute Preston defence. Kaine Kesler-Hayden came close for Preston when his cross hit the crossbar.
The second half offered few opportunities for either side. As a result, Burnley remained below Sunderland and Sheffield United in the standings. Preston moved up to 19th place with nine points following this match.
In another early kick-off on Saturday, Louie Sibley scored for Oxford United to secure a 1-1 draw at Portsmouth. Mark O'Mahony had given Portsmouth the lead just before the hour mark. Portsmouth remain winless in the division, having collected five points from nine games. Oxford United are seven points ahead and sit just inside the top half of the table.
This weekend's results have reshaped parts of the Championship standings significantly. Norwich City's impressive performance has boosted their play-off hopes, while Burnley's draw keeps them within reach of the top teams despite missing out on first place.
