Norwich City Dominates Swansea City 5-1 To Revive Championship Play-Off Aspirations

Norwich City secured a vital 5-1 victory against Swansea City, reviving their Championship play-off hopes. Josh Sargent starred with two goals as Norwich climbed to ninth in the table, while Swansea remains in the lower half.

Norwich City revitalised their Championship play-off hopes with a commanding 5-1 victory over Swansea City at Carrow Road. Despite entering the match on a three-game losing streak, the Canaries displayed confidence and dominance. Josh Sargent opened the scoring just before half-time, assisted by Emiliano Marcondes. Although Swansea equalised through Liam Cullen in the 62nd minute, Sargent quickly restored Norwich's lead.

The hosts then unleashed a flurry of goals in the final 15 minutes, with Lewis Dobbin, Ante Crnac, and Marcondes all finding the net. This win propels Norwich to ninth place in the standings, just three points shy of sixth-placed Blackburn Rovers. Meanwhile, Swansea finds themselves in 17th position.

Elsewhere, Millwall secured a crucial 1-0 win against Luton Town, deepening Luton's relegation worries. Aaron Connolly missed a first-half penalty for Millwall after replacing injured Callum Scanlon but Mihailo Ivanovic scored in the second half to secure victory. This result moves Millwall to 15th place in the table.

Luton remains second-bottom and two points from safety after this defeat. The Hatters have now lost seven of their last eight matches and are winless since Matt Bloomfield took charge three games ago.

Stoke City and Oxford United played out a goalless draw at Bet365 Stadium in a match lacking attacking quality. Oxford came closest to scoring when Ole Romeny hit the post after intercepting Viktor Johansson's attempt to shield the ball out of play.

This result leaves Oxford in 13th place in the Championship, nine points clear of relegation while extending their unbeaten run to eight league matches. Stoke remains without a win in six games across all competitions, sitting 19th and two points above the drop zone.

The weekend's results have reshaped positions within the Championship table. Norwich City's emphatic win boosts their play-off ambitions while Millwall's narrow victory adds pressure on struggling Luton Town. Meanwhile, Stoke and Oxford continue their respective battles near the lower end of the standings.
