Despite his privileged background, Faiq Bolkiah chose to follow his passion for football rather than immerse himself in the luxuries of royal life. Bolkiah's journey in football began in England, where he was part of youth academies at AFC Newbury, Southampton, Chelsea, and Leicester City.

Although he never made a senior appearance for these clubs, his career took him to the Portuguese club Marítimo before he found a new chapter in Thailand. At the same time, he also captains the Brunei national team, representing his country on the international stage.
